I'd be more than willing to sit down with you and go over stuff. It's really not as difficult as it seems; it just takes a lot of practice to get right. I'm entirely self-taught (started working with HTML back in the glory days of Geocities and Angelfire), and I'm so right-brained that I can't do simple arithmetic, but I was able to learn HTML/CSS with enough determination.
This book (http://www.amazon.com/HTML-XHTML-Sixth-Elizabeth-Castro/dp/0321430840/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265383037&sr=1-1) really helped me out, and it's one of the most easy-to-understand books that I've seen out there. It's a great investment if you're really serious about learning.
