SO remember that story idea i mentioned about the reverse werewolf? I also mentioned a story about a girl, but i didn't go into it. Well, the basic idea is that she is constructed out of pieces of many different children and brought to life by a witch after an accident in a village that killed a bunch of kids. In the end, she and the reverse werewolf meet in the woods and have adventures, etc. Well, last night Sarah and I (when we were supposed to be writing) were talking about ideas, and I recently purchased a Glamourkin from her that says "she wore a ring of moonbeams" and I was inspired. I decided that such a ring is what keeps the girl's soul anchored to her body. And what do moonbeams do to a werewolf, even a reverse one? Change them. SO a whole awesome fairy tale was born, thanks to Sarah!
And... I think I have a title for it already, which is major for me because I'm terrible with titles... what do we think of The Poppet and the Wolf? It's supposed to be very fairy-tale-ish, even though after the initial short stories it will be a novel. I think it works. She's sewn together, and he's a reverse werewolf. I was also toying with The Poppet and the Lune but I think "lune" is too much of a leap.
Oh my gosh I'm so excited for Halloween, and especially the annual party at my parents' place. We're doing it UP this year- I'm making this awesome tiered cake with a cookie graveyard on top. And my mom bought a Dremel pumpkin carver which makes it super easy to shave the pumpkin, so I've committed to the daunting task of carving the Deathstar as my pumpkin this year. I already got the perfect pumpkin, too, with an indentation where the superlaser goes... last year I did Abraham Lincoln without any special tools, so I am confident in my ability to pull this one off.
OMG there is a Nightmare Before Christmas cover compilation that you can listen to here. The Sparklehorse cover is a little disappointing, but the whole thing is totally awesome. I never caught the deeper meaning behind a lot of the lyrics to those songs until now.
Life is explosively awesome. I cannot begin to contain the joy of all the creativity that is flowing in my veins. And the excitement! Oh my gosh I'm excited for everything! And Oxford! And the Universe, and all it's presents to me! Yay!
Plus my kittens are FREAKING ADORABLE.
XD
