red wine and sleeping pills
Jul. 17th, 2005 09:41 amwell, I'm going to visit my cousin today at ECMC. The newest news is he has agreed not to do it again, he's being released this week, but they have him on meds that make him jittery and they won't take him off of them even though his mother/my aunt/a nurse practitioner has taken his pulse and demanded that they lower the dose.
arg.
so my aunt cathy sneeks him cigarettes, haha.
but anyways, he's doing better, which is a huge relief.
and I'm off... to endure my mother's bitter resentment at having guests in her house (my aunt liz is here and we're having my aunt cathy and cousins over for brunch).

Something I had previously overlooked

I mean, I've probably made it abundantly clear over a time that I don't believe in souls and the like, but it would be unreasonable of me to ignore evidence contrary to this view.
Re: Something I had previously overlooked
Date: 2005-07-18 06:28 am (UTC)I'm not even going to begin to pretend to understand that I know everything that happens outside of the physical world, and I don't subscribe to a particular stance other than it's there and here, but I do firmly believe that there is evidence enough that there is a world besides the physical. Quantum physics has already shown that thought, taking place in the human brain, can materialize as molecules outside of the human brain. Fuck, it's even shown that one molecule, one single exact molecule, can be in two places at once. Not two molecules made of the same substances. The same molecule. What sense does that make?
And, my mom's best friend is clairvoyant and has been able to see dead people since she was a toddler. Do you really think she's that blatantly nuts? I mean, she's a real person, whom I've eaten dinner with and gone shopping with... she's not Miss Cleo.
And, no, I no longer think it was a mistake that I was incarnated this time. I just think it may be one of the last times I do incarnate :)
