Let me give you the low-down on my first two days of classes at UB:
My very first class was in Filmore in the Ellicott complex. It was a good thing I took my own tour of both campuses, because no one told me the Ellicott complex was across Audobon pkwy. So, I went early to get my parking permit, and having heard horror stories about UB parking, I took the very first spot I could find- half way across the complex from Spaulding which was where I needed to go to get my permit. So I walked, I got it, I returned to the car to put it on the mirror. Then I began to search for Filmore, following vague arrows on signs. I couldn't find it. I finally asked someone if they knew; he said he was looking for the same building. So we both asked someone else: he was looking for Filmore as well. So we asked inside: other side of the complex. Oi. 10 minutes late to my first class on my first day. Not so bad though- other people came in 40 minutes late. I'm just a little anxious about punctuality. I hate being late.
Second day of classes: I go to my English class in Clemens, with an expensive and fresh cup of coffee because it was freezing out and Starbucks was right on the way. And I knock it all over the floor of the class room. "Nice way to start my first day of class," says I, enticing a single chuckle from the 1 person out of 20 who had the heart to help me clean it up.
I was surprisingly less mortified than I would have thought I would be in such a situation. I was actually just pissed, and of course self-conscious the rest of class, which smelled pleasantly like coffee throughout. Good thing I no longer take cream in my coffee, because that could have stunk.
Oi again. But cheers to relatively mature behavior- no one laughed at me, at least not while I was in the room.

::shakes head::

It's gonna be a hell of a semester.

And for those of you from South:
What is Jenny Statura's deal? I never did know, but I had the chance to observe her again briefly in the hall, and... I don't know what's going on there. "I get bored between classes, so I listen to music. When I'm listening to music I'm not bored- I'm happy" was what she decided to tell her neighbor. Huh?

Thats right, Maddie, share your embarassment and then take a stab at someone else. Elevate yourself! Elevate!

I kid, I kid, she's a nice girl. Just so weird.

And now, to the books.
