lathriel01. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Studied abroad; met my soulmates (romantic and non); rode a camel; climbed a dune; rolled down a hill in Scotland; made out with a gay boy... this list could go on and on...
02. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't make resolutions last year, but I did have areas of focus that I focused the HELL out of! :D Already set some goals for next year!
03. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin had her second baby
04. Did anyone close to you die?
I guess not because I can't think of anyone
05. What countries did you visit?
England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Morocco :D
06. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
An agent and a publishing contract, and income of any kind that keeps my soul intact
07. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
So many... but probably September 19, because that was the day I first contacted the love of my life, and also a date that came to me in a vision a year and a half beforehand
08. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I overcame a traumatic event that had been haunting me and for almost a decade.
09. What was your biggest failure?
I never give up, and I never give in, I just change my mind ;)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a wicked respiratory illness from "old world germs" when I first came to England, and it didn't fully go away for almost 2 months. I also got some kind of water poisoning from dirty old Spain. Think I might have had the pork flu, it was so mild though, hard to tell.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
An accidental membership to an online dating site ;D
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My brother, actually. He made some hard decisions and took a lot of flak for it, but in the face of it all I feel he made the right ones.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
"NEW YORK STATE, YOU BASTARDS. LEGALIZE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE AND JOIN THE FUTURE."
14. Where did most of your money go?
In all honesty, gas and whisky... and probably eating out at restaurants
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Having so many agents ask to read my manuscript; studying abroad; treading the sands of the Sahara Desert; getting to know my soul mate; getting engaged AND having the full, joyful support of the people who matter most to me; finishing college FOREVER... again, I could go on
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
"I'm on a boat!"
17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
Rapidly evolving as a whole being, slowly becoming an independent adult, and learning the absolute joys of true love :)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Travel. I wish I'd liquidated some stock before I went to England and that I had traveled more, but it's okay- just more reasons to go back!
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
What little I did, I wish I'd done less feeling lame and undervaluing myself
20. How will you be spending/did you spend Christmas Yule?
Yule with some lovely ladies and deities, Christmas with my soon-to-be extended family, my own family, the love of my life, and my kitties (not all at once)
21. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
The only thing I know for sure is that Jared and I will be among my friends at Hugh's house when the ball drops- no idea what's happening before that.

I've learned to love Squidbillies on dvd

I have strong feelings of "i'd rather not have you in my life" towards several new people, but not hate

The Lonely Island

Adventure, pushed limits, friends, and a soul mate

An agent, publishing contract, and source of income

I've had a love affair with Moulin Rouge! most of this year, does that count?

I spent the day in London with Sarah Poley, and we got lunch in China Town and took a bus tour, and headed back to Oxford where my friends had made me some birthday cookies ;.; I misses them
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A contract with a major publisher!
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
"I like that, I want to wear it"
