I just got off the phone with a rep from Create Space who answered some of my questions about their offset printing and package deals. I'm still really pleased with everything I'm finding out about their services. Print-on-demand (POD) is not nearly the machine it was even five years ago- cost/book is very low, so low I don't really think it will even be necessary (or wise) to work with an offset printer. Also, if I just go with Create Space, my overall investment will cover interior/exterior design, professional editing/copy editing, and a whole bunch of other stuff, for around $5k (which is totally manageable, even if I'm still going to fund-raise). And I can order copies of TPaL to have around if I set up a book-signing, tour, or tables at events.

I admit, though, I'm a bit nervous about that last part. I feel like I am the worst sales person in the world because I hate being sold to, so I hate selling, or to even APPEAR to be selling. I have to get over that, because like it or not to make a living from art you still have to sell it. But I do love what I write, and so long a I can say "I'd buy it" I should be okay with selling it.

So, I'm waiting on a quote from the rep, but I'm getting excited. I also need to really begin figuring out details about my book trailer. Wheee!
