this was the "hummingbird" from my dream. It's a Resplendent Quetzal, a native Costa Rican bird that is, according to legend, not a bird but a divine being.
It would! I never knew the symbolism, but that just adds to the intrigue of an already beautiful creature. I can envision it as a wrap around, the bird flying up the back with the tail wrapping around the waist/hip and coming down a little onto the front of the body. Like a protector. :)
I like the line on this one (http://lh6.ggpht.com/_w1MM4TRwNf4/R3QVu-Aq4XI/AAAAAAAAByI/kvF4xwPtNUo/DSCN3519.JPG), but I like the colors and the realism of this one. (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2345/2263526542_e323cc8281.jpg?v=0)
I love that second one! My boyfriend is shaking his head as I ponder going back under the needle... :D I think it would make a wonderful tattoo when you finally go in to get one! :)
