"Happy Thanksgiving" sounded too cliche [insert pretentious laugh] so:

and for S&Gs since I'm still a little loopy and proud that I'm so not emo despite the plethora of hugs I gave last night to people I haven't seen in ages, as worlds collided from far and wide and I pointed it out. Often. (yeah, eat it Culture Baron!)

Now, I'm going for a Thanksgiving Morning walk and taking advantage of that New Moon that I missed earlier this week.

That there emo-meter thing told me I'm 91% emo, and my song was "Nothing Better" by The Postal Service. I think it based most of the results on my favorite color being blue.

i think the emo-meter might be a little off. when i went for my walk this morning to reflect on non-trite and obvious things (all four limbs, white suburbanite in college, etc.) that i am thankful for, I definitely got sad and emo. Then i saw the most beautiful terracotta color that was made of the dead oak leaves on fallen branches under the shade of heartier oaks, and the glow of crisp morning sunlight illuminating the leaves from behind, in contrast with the brilliant green of the grass and the smokey gray bark of the fallen tree limbs. That moment, when something so commonplace and bland was presented to me as the most perfect gift, is what I am thankful for.
