monkeys, sweat, and tears

lathrielOh man. Making this quick, but boy oh boy is Costa Rica a bundle of surprises. Yes, lots of monkeys, they don´t even phase me anymore. But they lied when they said "hike". They meant "suffer up clay mountains after tropical storms." Oh, and I also got some sick tropical strain of the flu, and though I´m better now, it hospitalized another girl.
Today is the first day of the adventure tour portion. I have no sunblock and no books, and I´m ready to get rowdy tonight at the tent camp.
After that physical hell in my guts, with absolutely no form of comfort or familiarity but a cat i didn´t know too well, I am a really different person now. In a good way. One thing remains the same, though: I can´t come to decisions quickly, and I can just barely hear what my heart is saying, and i can´t quite make out the words, except for "have fun" and "drink Guaro tonight."
PS: Costa Ricans really are very nice, but at night the single men turn sleazy.
